Freedom Hill's comin' up on its 2-year anniversary...and the world keeps on turnin'

...it's just so sweet to be reminded that God has made us 'other-worldly' -- or, not of this world, that in Christ no pattern can form us, no box can hold us. it's comforting to know that Christian life is counter-current, good ol' revolutionary;)
we really are bracing ourselves for whatever it is that the CReaToR wants to do this year with our SuMMeR,, no doubt it'll be epic, he's an epic SaVioUR. At Fh these days we're just hopin' and prayin' for his GaME-PLaN, which is much better than anything we could put together..we're hopin' for hot weather, good community, and changed lives,, and we know He's capable of all of 'em, and so much more than we could ever ask for
there's more kids than ever now on SuNDay afternoons...KiDs on bikes, KiDs on SkateboaRDs and SkateS, KiDS in SaNDBoxeS, Kids playiN' B-ball, KiDs on Monkey-baRs, kidS on the BaSEBall field, kids on the swings -- KiDs everywhere, it's awesome, part of the evolution;)
& there's some people we just plain miss, you know who you are:)
the GaTes are wide open on SuNDaYs, we hope you can come out and share a meal, or share a thought, maybe even a friendship;) LoVE you GuYS..

| good day from P-ToWN 2 the other P-ToWN, hope you're totally diggin' this amazing sun and hot (guess that'd be by WA standards:) weather. Jc was definitely diggin' some sun in his day..;)
if you've been comin' to Fh for a while you might have noticed it's a group that's constantly evolving..one week it might look like every basketball player in pierce county showed up to play a tournament and in the next a whole bunch of musicians show up and little charles is the only one shootin' baskets. G's challengin' us to grow as disciples in such diverse and changing conditions..he doesn't want us to rely on the fact that a place remains unchanging, or that the people are always the same..he wants us to know that the only thing that's unchanging that we can rely on is him..it's all a very wonderful thing:) and trust me, if you feel like all of this is new and sometimes tough to adapt to, you're not alone, but KeeP RoCkiN' it in the FoRWaRD DiReCTiON, 'cause we're all together in this, with the Creator as a trustable father and leader
another area we've seen change in is the growing ethnic diversity. this is also, needless to say, RaD. and it raises interesting questions..it always has been a bit puzzling to me that there are so-called 'black churches' and 'white churches'..of course this could simply be a matter of style and taste but how cool that God's lettin' us be a church that has both..and not just african-americans & caucasians but hawaiians, germans, asians, mexicans..there was even an egyptian/hispanic girl there the other week, what an amazing mix!!;)
so if you guys are down let's just be prayin' for ethnic diversity. we definitely live in a nation and even a state that's rich with it..and i happen to be one -and many others would share this point of view - that thinks it's a rad thing when the church starts to reflect its area demographically!!:)
anyways guys, here comes MaY..and dare i say it...SuMMeR's on the WaY....

| spring's hangin' in there, flirtin' with us a little more everyday..and spring every year is famous for bein' the LoVE SeaSoN..since Sunday i haven't been able to get the 'first love' thing off my mind. God really does love us that way..it's crazy 'cause it's super RoMaNTiC and super INVoLVeD;) are we ready to be loved that way?? and then ready to know what to do with that love??
::on that note::
skatin' around the skating rink tonite it was apparent that there's all kinds of people ready to receive that love, and there's no doubt that we're the carriers and messengers of it..
if we can let God love us with that first love LoVE, it'll spill out of us everywhere we go..and we're called to go everywhere;)
just want 2 say thanks again for comin' to FreeDoM HiLL, each and every one of you are such a rad part of the group and God has totally blessed us with some flavor, and remember that it's a place where absolutely anyone is welcome..cause God's showin' us that his love is a love without borders, and a love that crosses every line
we hope that you can come this sunday to rock some food, play some basketball, make music, or just chill out. we love you guys so much and we're so thankful for the community that God has been so totally faithful in bringin'

..jerusalem whispered, shouted and rumored about his name 20 centuries ago just like the world does today..with anticipation, curiosity, wonder, excitement --and sometimes-- with hate..
today is good friday, the day we remember the death of our messiah..the day we remember why his blood had to be splashed and spilled on the concrete, on the ground, and on the cross..
we remember with reverence, and with unexplainable thanks..
we remember with hope, in light of our hindsight..the resurrection..
we hope to see you guys tomorrow night at freedom hill, that's right, you heard right, tomorrow night, SaTuRDay..come remember with us..
all of the world, christians, muslims, and jews celebrate this week because of tradition..we celebrate because the Christ still lives and moves in our lives today..
feel free to bring anyone and everyone who will come with you tomorrow nite, there's gonna be a lot of life there..and a lot of the man who defied death, through whom we are able to defy it and fight against it for the sake of those who don't know him..

| what's up 2 the Fh and whoever else stumbles upon this little place...
it is February, it's cold, and it's still 2005;) i hope everyone's doin' more than well up in the beautiful pacific northwest
our Father really has us in a tight wonderful and graceful grip, he simply will not let us slip away, and it's a good good feelin'. i'm sure everybody who heard about little micah just totally had their minds blown by God's ability to move through prayer and through his GooDNeSS, rock'n'roll, there's simply not words to explain how cool that whole thing is..so the only thing left to say really to the Creator is...'thank you' -- and we keep on fightin'
somethin' that's been hittin' me lately down here is somethin' that my uncle Chris likes to talk about a lot...the fact that we're 'SeNT'...wherever we go, wherever we work, study, or play, God's got us there for a very specific reason...with the mindset everything changes...all of the sudden 'killin' time' no longer exists. Jc said 'as the father has sent me into the world, i'm sending you'...BaM, there it is, 'NuF SaID;) so let's keep rockin' that sentness wherever we've at...and like Isaiah when he heard G say 'who can i send' -- we hear it and ReSPoND, HeRE I aM SeND Me:)
winter getaway was awesome, i'm sure you've heard...a bunch of rowdy KiDs from the amazing suburbs of the TaC-ToWN and surroundings just hangin' and playin' and not sleepin', learnin' about community and about what it means to follow God together ('cause we simply can't rock it on our own), and about what it means to dream:) how cool is all that??¿
well we love you guys and hope all is well, SeeYoU when you come around the block to the Fh or if not ELSeWHeRE...keep on rockin' that FoLLoW all the way 2 the very end
